​Spud is the 3rd generation of racer in the family. In 2023 he debuted in the ACU Junior Dragbike Championship on board the McLean Racing built Piaggio 125 junior machine, taking the no2 qualifier in his first event. In 2024, he won the first event of the season, and gained 2 no1 qualifiers during the season, in a tough fought championship, he finished 4th in the ACU championship in his first full season. So far he has run a personal best 8th mile time of 11.55 @ 58mph. In 2025 he will be looking to step up to a 250cc machine
